Job with no experience in Ukraine 2026: 47% of vacancies take beginners — where to start, IT juniors and remote work

November 3, 2026

In 2026 a job with no experience in Ukraine is real: 47% of the ads on Work.ua do not require work experience, a record for the site. But for junior IT specialists and for remote work the picture is the opposite — competition is high and offers are few. This guide answers the questions people ask most often: where to start without experience, whether it is still worth going into IT, how realistic remote work is, and what to know about reservation from mobilization when changing jobs.

Jobs without experience: how much is there in 2026

Work.ua tracks the share of ads that accept candidates with no experience: 36% in December 2023, 43% in 2024 and 47% in 2025. The reason is the staff shortage: when employers cannot find experienced people, they take motivated beginners and train them. The share is the highest in the scarce, mostly working professions.

Where to start without experience

  • Logistics and transport — warehouse operator, loader, courier, driver. Almost seven thousand vacancies for drivers alone are open at the State Employment Service; the typical advertised salary for drivers is about 22 thousand UAH.
  • Retail — sales consultants are the largest group of vacancies (8% of all ads on robota.ua in Q2 2026, advertised pay about 18 thousand UAH).
  • Food service — cooks and kitchen assistants (about 3% of vacancies, pay near 12 thousand UAH).
  • Medical support — junior medical staff (about 3% of vacancies).
  • Production and skilled trades — employers often train from scratch because there are too few skilled workers.

Use the filters for the category and the city, and the map: a vacancy within walking distance or one short trip from home saves money and time, which for a first job matters as much as the salary.

How to get the first job in 4 steps

  1. Choose a direction, not a title. Two or three related professions are enough: "warehouse/courier/loader".
  2. Write a resume without a work history. Show education, courses, volunteering, skills and motivation (see our guide to writing a resume).
  3. Apply to many vacancies a week, but personally. A short cover message with the reason why you are interested works better than an empty application.
  4. Ask about training at the interview. Where the shortage is the sharpest, ask whether the employer trains newcomers, and ask about the probation period, the first month's pay and the path to a higher grade.

Is it worth going into IT in 2026

The IT market has become tougher for beginners. According to a DOU survey, the number of junior vacancies peaked in January 2026 at 883 and fell to 613 by September. Analytical publications also note that the old route of "take a course and get a junior job" no longer works as it used to, and that artificial intelligence changes what employers expect from beginners.

What to do if you still want IT

  • Look at the adjacent roles. IT sales, support, QA, technical writing, data entry and analytics have a lower entry barrier than programming.
  • Build proof. A portfolio of two or three finished projects, a public GitHub, a test task done well — this replaces the missing experience.
  • Learn to work with AI tools. Some analysts say employers increasingly expect beginners to use them productively.
  • Keep a plan B. Combine learning with a job in a related field so that you are not dependent on a single market.

Remote work: popular, but rare

Work.ua states that remote work remains extremely popular among job seekers while employers offer it very rarely. This creates a simple rule: the more attractive the remote vacancy, the more applicants it receives. Remote formats are especially important for displaced people, people with disabilities and Ukrainians abroad, so competition is wide.

  • Apply early: with so many applicants per vacancy, the first days matter.
  • Prepare a resume that shows independent work: results without supervision, deadlines, communication tools.
  • Be careful with offers that ask you to pay for "training", "registration" or "a starter kit" — this is a common sign of a scam. A real employer does not charge for employment.
  • Do not exclude offline vacancies: a hybrid job close to home is often easier to get.

Reservation from mobilization and changing jobs

For men subject to military service, the possibility to get a reservation is a real reason to change a job. In an RBC-Ukraine survey, 23% of those who plan to change work named it among their motives, in a DOU survey of IT specialists — 41%, and according to Galera News, 24% of men in IT have a reservation from their employer, compared with 13% a year earlier. If this matters to you:

  • ask the employer directly whether and how they provide a reservation, and what the conditions are;
  • check that the company is registered, has official employment and a transparent process;
  • keep your documents in order and consult official sources before making a decision, because the rules change.

Almost 40% plan to change jobs: how to do it wisely

RBC-Ukraine reports that almost 40% of Ukrainians plan to change their jobs. If you are among them, do not quit before you have an offer: look at the market for two or three weeks, compare salaries for your profession in your city, update your resume and test the market with several applications. Ask not only "how much", but also about schedule, location, official employment and growth path.

FAQ

Can I find a job in Ukraine without experience?

Yes. Almost half of the ads on Work.ua accept candidates without experience, especially in logistics, retail, food service, production and medical support.

Is it realistic to find a remote job without experience?

It is possible but harder than for an office job: demand is much higher than supply. Prepare a strong resume and apply quickly.

Are there junior IT vacancies in 2026?

Fewer than at the start of the year: according to DOU, from 883 in January to 613 in September. Consider adjacent roles and build a portfolio.

How to avoid scams when searching for a job?

Never pay for employment, check the company, and do not send copies of documents before a real interview. Use platforms that verify employers.
